Random Things I Said on Threads This Holiday Because I Woke Up at 4 a.m. and Had Time
Until the next flurry of social media activity because I post like our messed up weather — randomly.

On Threads, I decided to drop not one, not two, but three “iconic” pictures of myself. Two from when I was almost 300 lbs and one from after I lost 75 of those pounds. (Photo by the incredible and very iconic Victor Jeffreys II. HIRE HIM FOR EVERYTHING!)

These drawings as proof to all (and myself) that I used to be a pretty talented cartoonist before I settled on this journalism thing.

This response about how I was so obsessed with the R&B group Jodeci as a teen that I once drew them in colored pencil and how for years the picture hung in my family home in the basement bathroom. Bonus: I also wrote an entire screenplay based on them on the old family PC that has been lost to time because I don’t have anything that can read a floppy or hard disk anymore.
This rant about Threads sending me anti-LGBTQ+ content when I very much do not like or want anti-LGBTQ+ content. (Shout out to my mom for raising me to know being a bigot is bad for your health because she’d kill me!)
This repost n’ a quote on how I’m losing the war against my very temperamental uterus. I was on my period for 4 months, y’all. FOUR MONTHS. (Read more about my horrible uterus here.)

This Thread on how my family keeps me humble because they know how truly ridiculous I am. (RIP GrandPa Pigeons!) (Photo by Gara Elizabeth Lacy. HIRE HER FOR EVERYTHING!)
This response to a Thread about men's (and my own) propensity to disagree with people when I agree with them, then repeat back their same points, only differently worded to their everlasting frustration. Except I only do this to men. It’s fun! (Except when it’s me and my boyfriend doing it to each other!)
This bit of encouragement to go outside of your box when finding/making friends. Different can be good! Also, people with friends live longer, so make some!
Merry Christmas Eve, everyone!
(Also, follow me on Threads here. I don’t really do whatever they do at X/Twitter anymore.)
